COMMERCE, Texas (Men's Basketball) –
Wednesday's Lone Star Conference opener between Texas A&M University-Kingsville (8-3) and #RV Texas A&M University-Commerce (10-3) pits two of the hottest teams in all of Division II against each other as the Javelinas battle the Lions on Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Field House.
 
The Lions dominated their way to a 95-53 win over Central Christian on Jan. 2 to earn their seventh consecutive victory.
 
Rankings
A&M-Commerce received six votes in the latest NABC Division II Poll and rank eighth in the Division II Media Poll sponsored by D2SSIDA with the Javelinas right behind at No. 9. The loaded LSC features three teams in the top 10 – Angelo State at No. 4, Midwestern State at No. 6 and Tarleton State at No. 9.
 
The LSC Preseason Poll featured TAMUC holding the fourth spot and the Hogs at No. 7.

Cris Boleware adds 8.5 points, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals and Jamar Goodwin is averaging 9.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and a block per contest. On the glass, Weathers and Jones combine for 11.4 boards per game.
 
Bryant Crowder leads the Lions with 16.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. Anthony Adams collects 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game, Jeremy Jones records 11.3 points, 5.2 assists and 5.0 rebounds, and Ronnie White adds 10.7 points and 6.6 rebounds.
