KINGSVILLE, Texas – After coming within an out of reaching the College World Series last season, the Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team enters the 2015 season ranked 19th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 40 preseason poll.
This will be the third straight week the Javelinas have been ranked in the CBN poll dating back to last season and eighth time in the past nine polls. The lone exception was the March 12 Top 30 release following the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
Also featured in the preseason Top 40 is conference foe West Texas A&M at 39th while fellow LSC programs Angelo State and Tarleton State received votes. From the South Central Region, Colorado Mesa (5th), Lubbock Christian (40th), St. Edward's (34th) and St. Mary's (38th) enter the year ranked while New Mexico Highlands and Oklahoma Christian got recognition.
TAMUK begins their season in Grand Prairie, Texas in the QuickTrip DII Classic against Ouachita Baptist on February 5. The Blue and Gold play their first game at Nolan Ryan Field six days later with a doubleheader versus Newman.
